History of Global
1880 Morris Kaye starts as a carrier for various
mills in Manchester.
1900 The first horse is purchased.
1920 Mechanisation.
1930 Greenway Transport Ltd started by
Sydney Kaye.
1948 Greenway Transport nationlised
1954 Transport industry denationalised. P & M
Kaye starts trading.
1974 P & M Kaye purchased by Lloyds Transport
& Warehousing (TransLloyd) Malvern Kaye
made Managing Director.
1976 LESCO starts trading as conventional
shipping line to Middle and Far East.
1984 LESCO ceases operations due to Iran-Iraq
war. Amsea Sea and Air Services is formed,
specialising in USA traffic.
1993 Global Forwarding incorporated.
2000 Global surpasses one million TEU's mark.
2000 Global purchased by CP Ships
